1225 A. (cont.) kind of man
By Mr. Hall Q. There are 4 of 5 specific charges against him, one is that he gave a man water to drink out of a dirty basin, another that he cuffed his ears several times, another that he threw water over him, another that he pinched him with hot tongs; do you know whether he did either of these four things or not? A. I do not Q. The charge is that about two weeks before Mr. Palmer died, he was found naked in the lodge, down on the middle floor shivering with cold and was taken out by the night watch, do you know whether that is a fact or not? A. I do not, do not know anything about it. Q. Do you know whether on some night about two weeks before Mr. Palmer died, the lodge was so cold that a man's teeth would chatter if he was left in there naked? A. No sir, I never saw the lodges anytime but what they were warm enough for a man that was naked. Q. You will not say that sometime they might not have been so cold that a man naked in there would be cold. A. There might have been, but not
