1231 Q. (cont. ) which you dissented. A. I do not remember particular now, but it would not be fair to suppose that I assented to everything that was done in the year. Q. Did you not assent to those things to which you put your name as an official act. A. At the close of the year that register was brought in and I think I signed all the resolutions, think a majority of the council did, I think I signed along every session without any regard to what might have been there. Q. Whether you assented or dissented to what was done? A. Yes I did not understand that point, I understood we were to sign the records of the council. Q. All the provisions of the constitution with reference to the council are embraced in 4 sections? A. I could not say about that, I am not very familiar with the constitution. Q. How many years were you counselled A. Two Q. Do you mean to say that during these two years you never took the trouble to see what was provided by the law and the constitution as to your duties? A. I do not think I ever did.
