The gentlemanly and officer
like bearing of Capt. C.W. Tilden of Company
B 2nd Maine Regiment, cannot escape the 
attention of these [assisting?[ the Army of the
Potomoa.  For his good and the good of the
the service we are anxious that he receive 
a promotion.  will you Sir if opportunity
possibly occur, do him the service and 
ourselves the favor to appoint him to 
such promotion
