       I have the honor to recommend the following
named officers for promotion for gallant conduct in the
field, Geo. W. Brown having been discharged from the service
of the U.S. viz

2nd Lieut Wm. H. Boynton Co. F. to be promoted to 1st Lieut
Orderly Sergeant Arthur C. Whitcomb [to be promoted to] 2nd [Lieut]
