Dear Gov

Yours of the 13th inst is at
hand.  Lieut Forbes has not to my knowledge
turned up as yet.  I wrote Col. Varney some 
time since to appoint or suggest the appointment
of someone in his place.  At all event I consider
it right to drop him from the rolls immediately.
