To all Persons to whom these Presents shall come,

Greeting:

Whereas, before our Supreme Judicial Court, begun and holden at Norridgewock, within and for our County of Somerset, on the first Tuesday of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and twenty one, James Hamlin, of New Portland, in our said County of Somerset, yeoman, was convicted of the crime of Forgery; and thereupon, by our said Court, sentenced to be punished by solitary imprisonment for the term of ten days; and afterwards confined to hard labor for the term of two years, in the common gaol, situated in Norridgewock, in the county of Somerset; a part of which sentence remains unexecuted: And he the said James Hamlin, has supplicated us for mercy:

Now Know Ye, That, upon full consideration of the premises, We do hereby remit to him the said James Hamlin, all that part of the punishment aforesaid that remains unexecuted; and grant to him the said James Hamlin, a full and free Pardon of the crime aforesaid: Of which, all our Judges, Justices, Magistrates and Officers of every denomination are to take notice:
