Resolve relating to a demand against Joseph Southwick was read a second time; the House nonconcur in the amendment proposed by the Senate, and pass the same to be engrossed without amendment, sent up for concurrence. 

Bill altering the time of holding the Courts of Common Pleas in the County of Waldo, was read a third time and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.

The Conferees on the part of the House appointed to meet conferees on the part of the senate, on the difference of the two Houses in relation to the Bill for organizing and governing the Militia made a report recommending that the House adhere, which was read and accepted.

Communication from the Secretary of State, transmitting a copy of the letter from Mr Holmes, Senator in Congress, came from the Senate and was read. sent up.

The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Resolve in favor of Waterville College, and on Motion to lay the same on the table till the first day of May next the question was taken by Yeas and Nays and decided in the negative as follows Yeas 47.
