charge of you, of all the attendants
in the male wards? A. I suppose Dr.
Harlow did.

immediately to the physician in charge of the 
male wards? A. I dont know about that I am sure.
Q. Dont you know that he head a right to
give you such directions as he pleased, and it
was your duty to obey them? A. I dont
know about that. What directions he ever
gave me I tried to obey as near as I could.
Q. You understood that was a part of your
duty did you? A. Yes, sir

hospital? A. I could not say whether
it was or not
Q.- that you shall obey the instructions from
the officers in charge of the wards? A. I
could not say positively whether it was.
Q. Were you not familiar with the printed rules
of the institution while you were there serving
as an attendant? A. The attendants rules could
