�April, Friday, 10. 1863.

In Camp to day. the weather continues good.

Saturday, 11.

To day we drilled in the fore noon. drilled at the skirmish drill. it has been very warm to day

Sunday, 12.

We had an Inspection this morning at 10 oclock. and we received marching orders. to march tomor-ow morning at day light with 3 days rations and 80 rounds of amunition

April, Monday, 13, 1863.

Boots and Saddles sounded at 3 oclock this morning. we got ready and started at day light. we marched abought 25 miles up the Rappahanoc river towards Warrenton. at sun set we went into Camp for the night. the weather has pleasant to day and the roads very good.

Tuesday, 14.

We started again this morning before day light. came on the road to Roppahonnock Ford. Our Regt was in the advance to day. we went to the ford and drove the Rebel Pickets from it and took possession of it. Co. H. was the first that went over the river.

Wednesday, 15.

We came back over the river las night and went into camp on this side. we killed 8 of the Rebels in the Skirmish yesterday so they say this morning. to day it has rained hard all day and we did not do eny thing.
