that if, (which may Heaven avert) an appeal to the Sword, the last resort of contending nations, should again become inevitable, either, in defence of our Common Country, or in vindication of her Insulted Dignity or Violated Rights, he shall think himself unhappy, even beyond the common measure of human infirmity! should a continuance of his present Misfortune, prevent his yielding to the dictates of duty, or if requisite, of sharing with his brethren and comrades in arms, the sufferings and hardships, the toils and dangers of so honorable a Contest!
It is hoped that, the great extent of country embraced by the Division, and the urgency of the occasion, will apologize for the dispersion of the above Order through the medium of a news paper, especially, when it is considered that, a dereliction of established forms is not intended, wherever those may be consistent, with conveniences and dispatch.
