We broke up Camp this after noon at 2 oclock and started to go back into Old Virginia again got down to the river and found a large force

We broke up Camp this after noon at 2 oclock and started to go back into Old Virginia again got down to the river and found a large force waiting to get ferried over the river having rised so it cannot be forded we waited till dark and could not git a chance to go over so we came back to our old camping ground and stayed all night. The rain pouring down in torrents.

We went down to the river again this morning to go over. it is still raining very hard. we stayed there till nearly noon and then we had order to go back to Camp and wait for farther orders.
