Prof J.L. Chamberlain of our college has finally consented to leave his present situation to serve his country in her need -- we are all here very much gratified though we shall deeply regret his loss, the boys are full of enthusiasm and so are the old men. I need not tell you the Prof is a gentleman and scholar but let me say that he is a man [underlined] both of energy and sense and in our opinion is as capable
