I William Kitfield being of feeble constitution and disabled by a Rupture in the abdomen cannot perform any hand labour without breaking some internal blood vessels and causing large quantities of blood to pass off by the intestinal canal producing faintness and direct debility. My wife also being weak and feeble in her constitution is unable to labour much for her support. With all the Industry and Economy I am capable of practising I have for a series of years been constantly reducing my property until necessity has compelled me by hiring Labour to Mortgage the remnant of my property containing by estimation fifty acres only about six of which is capable of cultivation and that a cold stiff clayey soil the residue is chiefly Ledge and barren swamp. This property cost me about one hundred + seventeen Dollars Eighty cents. The equity of Redemption may I suppose be fairly estimated at Fifty Dollars. But for this purpose I have no means and unless the bounty of my Country is continued to me no prospect of ever redeeming the same as my summer is past and my harvest nearly ended William Kitfield[signature]
