Sir
I have been solicited to write you- which I most cheerfully do- in favor of Alonzo K Myrick of Sedgwick being appointed as drill officer in Co. commanded by R.B. Bickford, in residence at "Camp Pope."
Mr. Myrick is a private in Co B. 2 Me Regt and has been with the Regt. since its organization till recently. He is now in Hospital at Washington having been wounded in the recent battles. He is a worthy- talented- and educated young man with strictly moral habits.
The officers of said company
