      Sir, Samuel Nash formerly

a member of my company, and since [?] and Q.M. Sergt of this regt is desirous of obtaining the appointment of Quartermaster in one of the regts from Maine. Having known Mr. Nash in the various capacities in which he has acted in this regt I can confidently recommend him as a man whose character and experience eminently fit him to discharge the duties of that office.
