     It is raining this morning and we have not got our tents pitch. I am on gatiuge dury to day. we pitched our tents in the fore noon in good shape. and got things fixed up well. and at 4 P.M. we received marching orders again. to go that night 5 miles beyond Strasburg. we got there at dark took care of our horses. and then layed down to rest for the night on the ground without eny supper or enything else. our baggage wagon being stuck in the mud did not git there till 11 oclock at night.

31 pretty well. had a good nights rest. We are now with the main body of General Banks army. here is a good many Soldiers. They are fortifying Strasburg and are expecting a battle from General Jackson and his rebel army. It is very warm to day.
