The "Baltimore Clipper" of this morning brings intelligence of the Evacuation of Clarksville and that our troops are pushing rapidly on to Nashville. Stephens Vice Pres't of the Southern Confederacy is reported to have resigned his position and advised a return of the seceded States. Everything portends a proud finale to the hopes of the rebels.
The band is discovering some of its sweetest music as I now write. All are in the best of spirits. The war news has been powerful in its influence. Every soldier on the Potomac is ready to march at a moments warning
