It is with the grate plasure that I take my pin in hand to writ you a few lines to let you know that I am wel and hope that theas few lines wil find you the same we air rether bad wethe hear at presant it rained all day yeserday and to day the wind blows hard and it is very Cold Jan 8th 1865 Wel Helen I now wil finish my letter it is Sunday we have had a [?] inspection hear to day we dont have Much duty to dow I have bin on picket once and on gard once since I got back we dont have to Drill eny now but expect to as soon as we git some recruts we had one come this week he is for one year we got twenty men for duty in our Co
