Col Reed returned from the Senate and informed the House that he had done the message

[Order of House requiring census of Shakers, Quakers & Ministers--] [Amended] The Order of this House, requiring "the Assessors of Towns and plantations to return the number of Polls of Quakers and Shakers over the age of 18 and under the age of 45-- and of Ministers of the Gospel of all denominations with their property, which if owned by other citizens would be taxable by the laws of this State, distinguishing the real from the personal property-- together with the numbers of Paupers and the expence [expense] of supporting them, in each town for the years 1819 and 1820 separately, distinguishing the expence [expense] of State from town Paupers--" came back from the Senate concurred with an amendment, in which, this House now concur.

[Resolve-- pay of members amended.] Mr Potter came with a message from the Senate, proposing an amendment to the Resolve, "providing for the pay of the Council, Senate and House of Representatives &c &c," so as that the Messenger to the Governor and Council shall be allowed $2"50 ["per day" struck out] instead of $2"00 per day-- in which amendment this House now concur and Mr Johnson is requested to inform the Senate thereof.
