To his Excellency Gov. Washburn of Maine
The undersigned volunteers [etc.] of the town of Unity etc., earnestly desire and respectfully ask that Dr. J. T. Main of Unity be appointed to examine those who have and may hereafter volunteer to fill up the quotas of new appointments to the towns in this neighborhood as we shall otherwise be obliged to go to either extreme of the county to be examined.
