Arguably to assignment the Senate proceeded to the election of Major Generals of the 8th & 11th Divisions of the Militia of this State. When upon receiving sorting and counting the votes for a ma[-]jor general in the 8th Division they were found to be as follows viz.

And was declared elected in concurrence with the House

Ordered that the Secretary of State be requested to inform the Governor that Brig. Gen Joel Wellington has been elected in manner prescribed by the Constitution a Major General to command to command the 8th Division of the Militia of the State. Read & passed. Sent down for concurrence.
