The Secretary of State came in and laid on the table the following written message from the Governor,
"To the Senate and House of Representatives.
The Adjutant General having reported the death of Major General Frost of the first division, I now make known to the two houses that the office of Major General of the first division is vacant Albion K. Parris."
In Senate Jan. 11. 1822 Read and sent down.
[Resolves] The following Resolves reported by the Engrossing committee as truly engrossed, were severally passed, to wit.
"Resolve directing the manner of engrossing Acts and Resolves – and for preserving the same –
"Resolve authorizing the Court of Sessions for the county of Oxford to hold a special Court & for other purposes.
[Bill] The Bill entitled "an Act to change the name of Phillips Limerick Academy," was also reported by the same Committee as truly engrossed, and passed to be enacted.
[Resolve] Resolve granting a pension to Oliver Perkins was read and 12 o'clock this day assigned for a second reading, and committed to the Committee on Bills in second reading.
