[96] [1822 Jany. 21] [Laws for Judge of District Court of U. States] On motion by Mr. Bradbury - Ordered that Messrs. Bradbury and O'Brien be a committee to consider the expediency and propriety of furnishing to the Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of the United States assigned to hold the Circuit Court of the United States within this State, one set of the public laws already printed - and one set of the laws which may hereafter be printed in this State.
[Committee on Fee Bill] On motion by Mr. Green - Ordered that Messrs. Seaver and Green, with such as the House may join be a committee to inquire into the expediency of altering and revising an "Act establishing the fees of the several officers and other persons therein named." Sent down for concurrence - came up concurred - and Messrs. Bradbury, Clark and Parsons were joined.
[Message of Governor respecting jurisdiction of Dennett's Island] The following written message from the Governor was laid on the table by the Secretary of State "To the Senate and House of Representatives - I have received from the Secretary of the Navy of the United States a communication relating to the jurisdiction over Dennetts island, on the East side of Piscataqua river, in this State, which I have directed to be laid before you.
As that Island now belongs to the United States, and is the site of an important Navy yard, it may not be deemed unreasonable that the United States should have jurisdiction over it so far as relates to the punishment of offences against the national authority.
