[Reports of Committee] Mr. Bond from the Joint standing Committee on New Trials reported that Samuel McLellan Jun'r. give personal notice to his wife by a copy of his petition and the order thereon four days before the twenty second day of January instant, to the end his said wife may then appear before the Legislature and shew[show] cause, if any she have, why the prayer of said petion[petition] should not be granted. The same Committee also reported that Eleazer Gay Jun'r. have leave to withdraw his petition - Which reports were severally read and accepted and sent down for concurrence - came up concurred.

[Bills read] Bill giving the rights of legitimacy to the Children of Elias Bates passed to be engrossed in the House came up for concurrence. Read and tomorrow 10 o'clock assigned for second reading & committed to committee on Bills in second reading.

Bill to preserve and regulate the taking of Fish called Alewives at Neguasset falls &c. read and tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for second reading and committed to Committee on Bills in the second reading.

[Resolve] An Act to alter the time for building Rumford Bridge -: also A Resolve for the relief of Timothy Wolcot - to be truly engrossed - and the same was passed.

[Bill] Bill to change the name of the town of Gerry passed to be engrossed in the House came up for concurrence. Read and ten o'clock tomorrow assigned for a second reading, and committed to the Committee on Bills in the second reading. -

[Report of Committee] Mr. Dennett from the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals reported that Seward Porter have leave to bring in a Bill - read & accepted, sent down for concurrence - came up concurred -
