[134] [1822 Jan. 29] [message amend. engrossed Bill] "Mr. President The House of Representatives have amended the engrossed Bill entitled An Act to alter the time of holding the Court of Sessions in the county of Somerset - by striking out the word September[underscored] and inserting October[underscored] in the last line but one," and they request the concurrence of the Senate." Which amendment being agreed to by the Senate - the Secretary was directed to inform the House thereof.
[Committee report on taxing exempts. &c.] Mr. McDonald from the joint committee to whom was referred the question of expediency of taxing the members of any religious sect or denomination in this State exempted by law from the performance of military duty, for the purpose of creating a fund for the payment of pensions to wounded or invalid officers and soldiers, their widows or orphans, with leave to report by bill or otherwise. Reported that they did not deem it expedient to act on the foregoing subject referred to them. Which being read - the same subject committed to Messrs.
