On motion by Mr. Poor - Ordered that the Petition of the Inhabitants of No. 1 - 4th range praying to be incorporated as a Town, be taken from the files of the Senate and committed to the Joint Standing Committee in Incorporation of Towns.

[Petition] The Petition of Gideon Curtis and others of Durham praying that relief be granted for the support of paupers in said town committed in the House to Messrs. Hayes, Dunn and Lowney came up for concurrence. Read and concurred - and Messrs. Ripley and Morrill were joined on the part of the Senate.

[M. General 1st Division] A message from the House - "Mr. President, The House of Representatives adhere to their former vote choosing Brigadier General Simon Nowell Major General of the First Division."

Ordered that the Senate proceed to ballot again for the choice of Major General of the first division - tomorrow at ten o'clock.

[Maryland Resolves] Mr. Green from the Committee on the Maryland Resolution &c. reported a Resolve relating to the Maryland Resolutions - which was read and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

[Reports] The following petitions committed in the House to the joint standing Committee on New Trials came up for concurrence, to wit. Petition of Benjamin Smith of Eastport a subject of Great Britain praying to be authorized to hold real estate in fee, and the Petition of Phineas Wright and Dorcas Dill praying that their marriage may be made valid &c. and they were severally read and concurred.
