[Senator Case] Mr Case the Senator elect from Penobscot appeared and was conducted by Mr Holland to the Governor and Council - and being qualified took his seat at the Board.

On motion by Mr Poor Ordered that the petition of Zaccheus Porter be taken from the files of the Senate and committed to the committee on incorporation of towns.

A communication was received from the Secretary of State in answer to the Order of the Senate of yesterday - containing a statement and documents respecting the contract for printing the laws passed in 1820, 1821 - Read and ordered to lie on the table [afterwards ordered to be placed on the files of the Senate.] [Reports of Committee on Parishes &c.]

The Joint Standing Committee on Incorporation of Parishes and other Religious Societies and Ministerial and School Lands reported - that Jonas Wheeler and others have leave to bring in a bill - also that Charles Fox and others have leave to bring in a bill The same Committee also reported that La Fayette Perkins and James R. Kittridge cause a copy of their petition and the order thereon to be served on the town clerk of Weld

and posted up in some pubic place in said town thirty days at least before the first Wednesday of the next Legislature - to the end persons interested may then and there show cause if any they have why the prayer of petition should not be granted;

which reports were severally read and accepted and sent down for concurrence - came up concurred -
