We have no Muster in Roll of those recruits that came on with me the first of July. I mean those that were enlisted by Gen'l Stevens and myself. We came off in a great hurry & I was told by Gen'l Stevens & Mr. L. H. Eaton that all the necessary Rolls & papers would follow us.
When we began to make out Muster Rolls for payment we found that we had nothing to show that they had been received into the service by a U.S. officer. We have a roll (muster in roll) of those that came with Col. Wild at that time. Signed by Capt Hight U.S.A. but none of
