The Speaker laid before the House a communication received from Elias Thomas Esqr Treasurer of State, transmitting the State of the Finances for the year 1827.
On motion of Mr Swan of Portland, Ordered that the joint standing committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire into the expediency of altering the law respecting Hogshead Shooks & Heading exported from this State - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
