Mr Roberts of South Berwick has leave of absence after today.
Resolve relating to the allowance of the Massachusetts claims now pending before the Congress of the United States, was read and amended by striking out the Preamble and then passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
Resolve making further provision respecting the State road from Sunkhaze to Mattawamkeag river, came from the Senate passage refused for concurrence. The House refused to concur and adhered to their vote passing the same to be engrossed.
The committee to consider the expediency of fixing the compen sation of Sheriffs + reported that the subject does not require legislation at the present time. The report accepted in the Senate came down for concurrence - and the House referred the subject to the next Legislature. Sent up for concurrence.
