Report on petition of John Spring & als granting leave for a Bill came from the Senate accepted for concurrence - The House referred the subject to Messrs Smith of Hollis, Ricker of Waterboro' Fogg of Limington, Fessenden of Portland & Russell of North Yarmouth.

Ordered that Messrs Hammond of Elliot, Charles of Fryburg & Quinnam of Wiscassett be a committee to consider the expediency of fining towns for not sending Representatives agreeably to the Constitution of this State - read and passed.

The committee on the subject of the deed from Joshua Gage & als to the State - of Warren Rice & als & of Ballard Green & als reported that the same be accepted. The House assigned Wednesday next at 10 oclock to consider the report and 200 copies of the deed from Joshua Gage & als was ordered to be printed.

Bill to annex Lewiston to Cumberland County, was read 1st & 2d time and Wednesday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

The Committee to consider what, if any further provisions are necessary to regulate the payment of fines & bills of cost into the State Treasury, reported a Bill - and the report was accepted.

Ordered that Messrs Richardson of Portland, Smith of Westbrook and Page of Hallowell be a Committee to consider the expediency of amending the act "to prevent fraud in fire wood, bark or Coal" - read and passed.
