An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Committee on State Lands to enquire as to the expediency of authorizing the Land Agent to carry into effect contracts made by the Commissioners of the Land office of Massachusetts, with settlers in Township number four, 1st range North of the Bingham Kennebec Purchase, and all others who have settled on lands now belonging to this State under contract with said Commissioners - and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence, appointing Messrs Southwick and Dunn with such as the House may join a Committee to consider when this Legislature may have a recess, and also the place where the next Legislature shall convene - and the House concurred and Messrs Russell of North Yarmouth, McCrillis of Belfast and Flint of Nobleboro were joined.

A deed from Timothy Boutelle Esquire & wife of Waterville to the State, of a lot of land in said town as a site for the public buildings, was received and referred to Messrs Abbot of Vassalboro', Crooker of Dover & Luce of New Vineyard.

An order came from the Senate directing one session only each day until after Saturday next, and that the joint Committees, excepting the Committee on Accounts close their reports at that time & afterward be discharged, for concurrence and the House nonconcurred.
