They not knowing how to read English, Therefore Mr Gaberiel asked me to write Some for them, & I wrote Some, & they took them & put them into Mr Davis' Hat as quick as they could, but before they had time to put all of them into the Hat was turned & Several votes were rejected, the Agent Saying that the polls were closed & it was to late. I calculate that about Ten votes were lost for Gaberiel, but thanks to the Lord, they had votes enough to elect him, |
