An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State to cause to be printed a number of copies of all acts of this State in relation to the education of youth sufficient to furnish each School District with three copies, and to transmit the same, with the copies of Constitutions of this and the United States, to Selectmen of the several towns & assessors of the several plantations – and the House concurred.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Churchill & Pond with such as the House may join a committee to enquire into the expediency of enlarging the jurisdiction of the Municipal Court for the town of Portland, so that it may take cognizance in cases of forcible entry & detainer; and in cases where penalties may accrue to said town; and also to prevent suits being brought before Justices of the Peace in towns adjacent, where both parties are inhabitants of said Portland; and to consider what other additional powers may be given said Court; and the House concurred and Messrs Longfellow of Portland, Mitchell of North Yarmouth and Evans of Gardiner were joined.
