I think a wise man has come out of the East and at last my ideas of a systematic [word underlined] study of Indian place names in New England have been realized. The papers are sound and convincing and leave little to be desired. The only thing I would add would be a fuller reference to cognate place names in other localities of New England. This can only come from a cooperative search in the several New England states, like the work you are doing for him in Maine. I wish to be of help and have sent him my | ||
