Our Regt had four men wounded. Falling back cansel a sharp engageme-nt and it lasted till after dark. The rebs atacked the 4th corps which was on our right, and rebs lost verry heavy and had to fall back.

3d A lousy day. Sharp skirmis-hing in the morning. We formed a line of battle and built brestworks. Wm Gerish wounded in both legs, breaking one and causing amputation. Wm Gilman wounded in the left elbow. Both of these men belongs to Co H. Sergt Fred Mean of Co A. was killed by an unexploded shell. It mangled his leg close to his body. Albert Roberts was wounded slight in the cheek with a buckshot. It went into his mouth and came out through his cheek but did not hirt his teeth. 23 wounded and one jilled in our regt today
