240 The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed Bill defining the duties & powers of Justices of the Peace respecting actions of Replevin - - ceding to the United States the jurisdiction of Mount Desert Rock - - additional to an act to establish a Court of Common Pleas- which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

The same committee reported as duly engrossed Resolve providing for the printing & distribution of Blank returns of votes - of favor of Day & Fraser - - respecting the Tariff - - for the purchase of stationary & other articles - which were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.
