any more successful and whereas the Legislature has been nearly sic weeks in session, at great expense to the people of this State, without being able to perform any Constitutional legislative acts, & not withstanding there is some important business affecting individuals as well as the public, which requires legislative attention, and which ought not to be neglected - Yet as there does not appear to be any prospect of inducing a quow`m of the Senate to attend at the Senate board, Therefore to avoid the experuse of a Longer & unavailing attempt to proceed in the public of a longer & unavailing attempt to proceed in the public business.

   Ordered, That the concurrence of the House of Representatives be requested, in a proposition to adjourn without day, at as early a period as shall appear compatible with the public interest. 
    Read & on motion of Mr Boutelle of Waterville, referred to Messrs Boutelle of Waterville, Smith of Nobleboro and Norton of Canaan.

A message was receive from the Senate by Mr Kavanagh their Secretary, proposing a Convention of the two House in the Representatives Chamber at eleven oclock tomorrow, for the purpose of qualifying such Counsellors elect as may then be present and have signified their acceptance - and the House concurred and the Clerk communicated notice thereof by message to the Senate.

  Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of making the law exempting swine from attachment more explicit - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
