A Report was received from the Hon. Prentiss Mellen and Nathan Weston, a Committee appointed under a Resolve of the last Legislature to examine the several Acts now in force regulating the fees of the several Civil Officers of this State, and to report to this Legislature what alterations or amendments ought to be made therein, in which they say it is expedient to make alterations therein. Read and sent down.

On motion of Mr. Dunn, Ordered that the Resolve in favour of Jonathan Nelson be taken from the files and laid on the table; which was referred to the Committee on Applications from sick and wounded soldiers. Sent down for concurrence and came up concurred.

A message was received from the House informing that they had assigned monday 17th Inst. at 11 O clock for the purpose of coming to the choice, on their part, of a Major General of the 8th Division; and informing also that they had discharged Col.
