Senate January 31. 1824. -

[Committee on the law relative Hawkers &c] Order of the House that Messrs Shaw, Cobb & Smith with such as the Senate may join be a committee to take into consideration the expediency of amending the law against Hawkers, Pedlars and Petty Chapman, with leave to report by Bill or otherwise, came up for concurrence, and was read and nonconcurred.-

[Resolve] Resolve in addition to the Resolve apportioning Representatives &c. passed to be engrossed in the House, came up for concurrence, and was read and passed to be engrossed in concurrence.-

[Petition referred] Petition of Samuel F. Brown and als. for the conveyance of certain land to right owners, committed on the House to the committee on State Lands, came up for concurrence, and was read and concurred.-

[Remonstrance] Remonstrance of the Selectmen of Ellsworth against the formation of a New County, and Remonstrance of Otisfield against being annexed to Oxford County, committed in the House the Committee on Towns, came up for concurrence, were read and nonconcurred: referred to the committee on Counties and County lines; sent down for concurrence: concurred.-

[Committee on extending the time for academies to procure funds] Order of the House that the committee in Literature &c, be instructed to consider the expediency of extending the time for Academies to procure the requisite funds, required by law, came up for concurrence, and was read and concurred.-
