Petition of John Warren & als of Hiram for aid in regard to education, was read & referred to the committee on Literature &c &c. Sent up for concurrence.

Remonstrance of the town of Unity against the petition of Nathaniel Noyes & als, was read & referred to the committee on the incorporation of Parishes &c. Sent up for concurrence.

An additional Resolve for opening and clearing a road from the South line of township numbered two Old Indian purchase on the East side of the Penobscot river to Metanawcook Stream - was read once and tuesday next ten oclock assigned for a second reading -

Ordered that the joint standing Committee on the Judiciary be directed to consider the expediency of enacting any additional laws to prevent petty larcenies & the buying of stolen goods, with leave &c read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - establishing Bowdoinham Academy, was read a third time and on motion of Mr Hazeltine of Searsmont, indefinitely postponed. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - to establish an institution for Female Education, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Bill - to establish the Stillwater Canal Corporation, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

On motion of Mr Mitchell of Freeport, Ordered, that the joint committee on the Judiciary be directed to inquire into the expediency of limiting & fixing the time within which writs of error may be brought in the Judicial Courts in this States - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
