Bill - authorizing the reduction of the capital Stock of the Waterville Bank, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Bill - relating to Cathance Bridge, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a third reading.

Petition of A. Sanborne & als for an incorporation of the Literary Fraternity of Waterville College, came from the Senate referred to the committee on Literature &c for concurrence - and the House concurred.

Resolve making appropriation for expenses of the State Arsenal was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

Report of the committee to consider the expediency of enacting additional provision to prevent petit larceny & the buying of stolen goods, that legislation is inexpedient, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

Resolve in favor of the Trustees & Overseers of Bowdoin College came from the Senate passed to be engrossed as amended - and the House refused to recede from their vote of 11th instant indefinitely postponing this Resolve - The question was taken by yeas & nays and decided in the negative as follows - yeas 39 nays 93 [See appendix page 294.]

The committee on engrossed bills reported as duly engrossed Bill - additional act to provide for the carrying into effect certain stipulations in the Act for erecting the District of Maine into a separate State - which was passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.
