Mr Ames called for a division of the question and the Chair put the question on striking out - and the question was lost 51 pro 69 con. Mr Adams then moved to strike out the word thirty, in the first resolve wherever the same occurs and the motion prevailed. Yeas and nays were taken Yeas 76 nays 60. Mr Adams then moved to fill the blanks with forty, and the motion was lost at 41 pro 45 con. Mr Mitchell of Portland then moved to fill the blanks, with thirty five and before the question was taken the House adjourned until half past two oclock this afternoon -
