Met according to adjournment

Ordered that a message be sent to the Senate requesting them to send down to this House the Resolve establishing the seat of Government together with the two deeds from Joshua Gage & als to this State.

Resolve in favor of the town of Calais, came from the Senate passage refused. The same was read once in the House, & on motion referred to Messrs Pillsbury of Eastport, Spooner of Cooper and Marston of Machaisport.

Bill to change the name of the town of Montgomery, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 clock assigned for a 3rd reading

Bill - to incorporate the Oxford Female Academy, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading.

Resolve respecting a Gaol at Eastport, was read a second time & refused a passage.

A message was received from the Senate by Mr Hutchinson their Secretary informing the House that the Senate have voted to comply with their request to send down the Resolve establishing the seat of Government & the two deeds from Joshua Gage & als to the State - and the Secretary laid upon the speakers table table said Resolve and deeds & on motion the papers were referred to Messrs Wood of Camden, Smith of Westbrook, Pierce of Green.

Petition of Thomas Murphy & als on the subject of the location of the Courts in York, was read & referred to the committee of both Houses on that subject. Sent up for concurrence.
