Afternoon Petition of Andrew Denison & others for abolition of Imprisonment for debt was read & referred to the joint special committee to which was referred so much of the Governor's Message as relates to that subject - sent up for concurrence.
On motion of Mr. Deane of Ellsworth Ordered that the Land Agent be directed to ascertain from the Land agent of Massachusetts the tracts and quantity of land sold & conveyed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts south of, & north of the monument line - Also the quantities of land south and north of the monument line - Also the quantities south & north of said line contracted to be sold & the times of payment. Sent up for concurrence.
An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the committee on the Judiciary to inquire whether any further provisions of law are necessary or expedient in relation to elections with leave to report by bill or otherwise - read & concurred. Sent up.
