Mr. Emery from the Committee on Banks &c on the petition of B.C. Atwood and others, reported Bill incorporating, the Portland Mutual Fire Insurance Company to be located in Portland and the same was read once and tomorrow 10 oclock assigned for a second reading.

Report on petition of Abiel Wood and others granting leave to withdraw was accepted in concurrence with the House.

Mr. Miller from the Committee on Parishes &c reported leave to withdraw on the several petitions of Nathaniel Noyes & others

[Resolve - internal improvement -]

Mr. Williams from the Committee on that part of the Governor's message relating to internal improvements, and an order of January 28th respecting the expediency of laying out and making a road from the South line of township No 3 3rd. west of Bingham's Kennebec Purchase, reported Resolve relating to internal improvements and the same was read once and tomorrow 10 oclock assigned for a second reading.

[Bill for the promotion of Education]

Mr. Dennett from the Committee reported Resolve providing for the establishment of town Libraries and the promotion of education in a new draft and the Senate changed the title of the same to " An Act providing for the promotion of education" and the same was referred to Messrs Washburn Cutler and Dennett,

[Bill - Bowdoinham Academy]

Mr Herrick, agreeably to notice given, move there consideration of the vote of Monday referring a second reading of the Bill establishing Bowdoinham Academy and the question upon this motion ordered to be taken by yeas and nays was decided in the affirmative as fellows
