Afternoon, Mr Williams from the Committee the Judiciary on order of January 26th concerning the expediency of further provision and alteration of the several acts to secure to the owners their property in Logs, Masts & Spars reported the Legislation is inexpedient. Read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence concurred

[Order of House Highways -]

Order of the House of Representatives appointing. Messrs Bannoch, Wentworth and Bradford with such as the Senate may join to inquire into the expediency of making some alterations in the Laws providing, for the making and repairing highways & the appointment of highways surveyors, with leave to report by Bill or otherwise, was read and passage refused.

Mr. Miller from the Committee on Parishes &c, on his petition reported Bill to annex a part of the estate of Isaac Lambert to the town of Durham and the same was read once, ordered to a second read again read and passed to be engrossed; sent down for concurrence, and

on the petition of Sally M Smith and others, reported Bill to incorporate the Female Orphan Society Asylum of Portland and the same was read once and committee to Messrs Megguier, Dennett & Cushman

Mr. Dennett from the Committee on incorporation of towns on the petitions of William Philbrook and others, reported Bill to incorporate the town of Chandlerville and the same was read once and committed to Messrs Weston, Williams, and Shaw.

Bill additional respecting the salaries of Judges & Registers of Probate was read a second time and passed to be engrossed, as amended s.d.f.c.
