8 Mr McCrate of Nobleborough was charged with a similar message to the Governor
Ordered that the Rules and Orders of the last House of Representatives be the Rules and Orders of this House until others are adopted in their stead.
Ordrered that Messrs Kent of Bangor, Williams of Augusta and Knowlton of Montville be a Committee to prepare and report Rules and orders for the government of this House.
Ordered that Messrs Jarvis of Ellsworth, Kent of Bangor and Smith of Westbrook be a Committee to prepare and report a list of members of the House, the Town or Class which each represents and the number of his seat.
Ordered that the Clergymen of the towns of Augusta and Hallowell be requested to act as Chaplains to the House during the present session in rotation according to seniority
Ordered that the House hold two sessions each each day commencing at nine o'clock in the forenoon and at two o'clock in the afternoon until otherwise ordered
A Message was received from the Senate informing the House that the Senate had organized by the choice of Robert P. Dunlop President and Nathaniel L. Littlefield Secretary.
