I am informed that one, or more designing individuals have been industriously engaged in creating and circulating suspicions against my integrity of conduct in the office of Warden of the State Prison, which suspicions I am further informed have been insinuated into the minds of some of the members of the Legislature. Every one must be sensible of the injustice of condemning any man unheard, and without a sufficient knowledge of the facts. The committee on the State Prison &c to whom was referred the documents relating to said Prison, made a report in this House which was read, accepted & ordered to be printed. Sent up for concurrence.
The Speaker laid before the House a communication from Hon.
