Bill - to set off Washington Remick from Kittery to Eliot & to repeal a former Act for the same purpose, was read 1st & 2nd time & Monday next at 11 o clock assigned for a 3d reading.
Bill - additional act respecting the Winthrop Bank, was read a 1st & 2nd time & Monday next at 10 o clock was assigned for a third reading.
Bill - for the further improvement & preservation of Highways was read once and Thursday next at eleven o clock assigned for a 2d reading.
Bill repealing part of an act to incorporate Anson Academy & reviving the residue, was read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed with amendments as on sheet annexed marked B. Sent up for concurrence
Bill - regulating attachments on real estate, reported by the joint select committee on that subject in this House was read 1st & 2d time & Thursday next at 11 o clock assigned for a 3d reading & 250 copies thereof ordered to be printed for the use of the Legislature.
An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State to notify the Governor & Council that Elias Thomas of Portland has been elected Treasurer of State for the current year, has accepted the office and given bond to the satisfaction of the Legislature - and the House concurred.
Report on the petition of Andrew McMillan & others, granting leave to withdraw, was read and Ordered to lie on the table.
